Different Assembly Patterns of Planktonic and Sedimentary Bacterial Community in a Few Connected Eutrophic Lakes

چکیده

The mechanism of bacterial community assembly has been the hot spot in field microbial ecology and it is difficult to quantitatively estimate influences different ecological processes. Here, a total 23 pairs planktonic sedimentary samples were collected from five lakes Wuhan, China. significant higher ?-diversity (p < 0.001) ?-diversity communities observed sediment than those water. Some phylum had linear relationships with comprehensive TSI (TSIc) by regression analysis. Non-metric multidimensional scaling (NMDS) redundancy analysis (RDA) revealed that depth water, NO3?-N, NH4+-N, PO43?, CODcr key environmental variables communities, whereas they depth, NH4+-N. Furthermore, variation partitioning (VPA) showed spatial factors could only explain 40.2% 27.9% respectively. More importantly, null model suggested mechanisms found between water fact was mainly driven dispersal limitation process variable selection played vital role sediment.

Annual periodicity in planktonic bacterial and archaeal community composition of eutrophic Lake Taihu

Bacterioplankton plays a key role in nutrient cycling and is closely related to water eutrophication and algal bloom. We used high-throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing to profile archaeal and bacterial community compositions in the surface water of Lake Taihu. It is one of the largest lakes in China and has suffered from recurring cyanobacterial bloom. A total of 81 water samples were collected ...

Planktonic and sedimentary bacterial diversity of Lake Sayram in summer

Lake Sayram is an ancient cold water lake locating at a mountain basin in Xinjiang, China. The lake water is brackish, alkaline, unpolluted, and abundant in SO4(2-) and Mg(2+). The lacustrine ecosystem of Lake Sayram has been intensely investigated. However, profiles of the microbial communities in the lake remain largely unknown. In this study, taxonomic compositions of the planktonic and sedi...

Relationship between bacterial community composition and bottom-up versus top-down variables in four eutrophic shallow lakes.

Bacterial community composition was monitored in four shallow eutrophic lakes during one year using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) of PCR-amplified prokaryotic rDNA genes. Of the four lakes investigated, two were of the clearwater type and had dense stands of submerged macrophytes while two others were of the turbid type characterized by the occurrence of phytoplankton blooms. O...

Sustainable Management of Eutrophic Lakes and Reservoirs

Eutrophication of lakes and reservoirs is a major water quality problem that poses significant environmental, economic and social threats around the world. Monitoring and managing lakes and reservoirs to prevent or limit eutrophication, therefore, has significant value. The literature has been reviewed to study ecological engineering and management methods that have been and can be applied to i...

Phosphorus Models for Eutrophic Lakes

Abstract--A model is developed for a highly eutrophic lake (White Lake, Michigan) which incorporates both the water and sediment systems and considers two forms of phosphorus--particulate and dissolved. Dynamic interactions of phosphorus between sediments and water are quantified by taking account particulate phosphorus sinking to the sediment-water interface and diffusion of dissolved phosphor...
